Design thinking process

Human-Centered Design is not a perfect linear process, and each project inevitably comes with its own contours and character. However, no matter what kind of design challenge you face, you’ll move through four main phases: Empathy – Define – Ideate – Test.

Challenge

Every project starts with a challenge. What is the context of yours and how do you frame your starting point? Contact us if you need help with identifying and choosing the scope of your challenge.

Empathize

Empathy is at the core of Human-Centered Design. A deep understanding and connection with the target group enables the design of a solution that is meaningful and relevant for that specific user or target group.

Define

The data and findings gathered during the Empathy phase must be analyzed and synthesized into actionable insights. Defining frameworks and tools facilitate the identification of the most relevant opportunity spaces for your selected challenge.

Ideate

Ideation is all about unlocking creative potentials. Starting off from a well-defined problem statement and through the application of creative techniques and tools, a large quantity of wild ideas and innovative solutions can be generated.

Test

Crazy ideas and concepts need reality checks to be validated. Building and testing a prototype directly with users through several iterative feedback loops will generate unique insights that will refine your final proposed solution.

Implement

Once the innovation concepts are validated, they can be transferred back to the organization and the operating environment. You don’t know how to start this process? We’re happy to help.
